The COGNIT Project participated in the Linux Foundation Open Source Summit Europe in Amsterdam, where partners showcased how the project’s open source serverless framework leverages the Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) paradigm to enable efficient edge application execution and smart orchestration across the cloud–edge continuum. Throughout the event, the COGNIT booth attracted significant attention from visitors interested in the tangible results of the project, in European open source cloud-edge technologies, and in the AI-at-the-Edge applications that our use cases are deploying. The project team—composed of members from Acisa, CETIC, Nature 4.0, OpenNebula Systems, Phoenix Systems, and SUSE—had the opportunity to engage in many insightful discussions and exchange ideas with participants from across the open source ecosystem.

In total, nearly 100 visitors expressed their willingness to keep track of the project and stay connected with us, and to follow our ongoing developments and future releases of the COGNIT framework. This strong interest highlights the growing relevance of cloud-edge continuum solutions and serverless technologies in enabling next-generation distributed intelligence.

The COGNIT consortium thanks everyone who visited the booth, discussed use cases, and contributed to inspiring conversations about the future of European open source, sovereign AI, and cloud-edge computing. See you soon!
